Our patterns of worship are varied and cater for both traditional and modern styles.  They run on a monthly cycle as shown below.  A number of midweek festivals are also celebrated jointly with Emmanuel.  In addition we retain some traditions of a country church including Plough Sunday and Rogation Sunday, when the morning service is held in the local countryside.  There are also special children’s services and groups for children and young people take place during the 9.30am service, apart from the fourth Sunday of each month, when we have an all-age family service, that the children attend.  For more information on these please click HERE.  You would be very welcome at any of these services or groups.

Time of evening service...

The Evening Services at St. Mary’s will begin at a new time, 5pm starting from Sunday 6th January and will revert to 6.20pm when we move to British Summer Time at the end of March. We will then review this arrangement in July to see how people feel about it. As many of you will be aware, Emmanuel no longer has a weekly service of Evensong and members of that congregation have been encouraged to come up to St. Mary’s to join Evensong there but, for some, our existing time of 6.20pm was felt to be too late especially during winter months. In the summer, many of the St. Mary’s congregation use Sunday afternoons for visiting families, gardening, walking etc so we are hoping, having consulted fairly widely, that by having a winter time (5pm) and a summer time (6.20pm) we will meet the various needs! As I say, we will be reviewing the arrangements after 6 months but please do let me have any comments or suggestions in the meantime. Sue Field (contact Sue HERE).
