“I came that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Jesus Christ (recorded in John, chapter 10, verse 10)
Baptism is a sign of the beginning of a journey with God which continues for the rest of our lives. For all involved, particularly the candidates, parents and godparents, it is a joyful moment when we rejoice in what God has done in Christ, and respond in repentance and faith.
We offer Baptism services to all who feel able to, in good conscience and with intergrity, make the promises contained in it (in the case of infants, these promises are made on their behalf by their parents or guardians and godparents). In addition to offering Baptism, we also offer the option instead of having a service of thanksgiving and dedication for infants and the opportunity for those who are old enough to reaffirm baptism vows made on their behalf. Except in the case of emergencies, baptism, thanksgiving and dedication, and reaffirmation services all take place in the context of either one of our main services.
If you would like to discuss baptism, thanksgiving and dedication, or a reaffirmation of baptism, a member of clergy is available in the Church Office (directions available HERE) from 6:30-7pm on Tuesday evenings (during holiday seasons it is best to check in advance if someone will be there).
