As a branch of the Mothers' Union, the Emmanuel and St. Mary’s branch has existed, in varying forms, for over 100 years. Its aim is to be especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life and offer the same care and concern for families throughout the world. Like most charities, we have an Emergency fund that can provide immediate help (mostly overseas), at the drop of a hat. In Leicestershire we raise funds for needy families particularly for them to go on holiday together in the summer and also collect small Creme Eggs at this time of year for the same reason.
We are a very friendly branch always ready to welcome new members and offer quite a varied programme, although we only meet once a month. Spare copies of our programme can be found next to the Information Point in Emmanuel Church Centre which will give you an idea of what we do during the year. We also take part in a range of events with Mothers' Union branches locally and as part of the Church of England in Leicestershire.
On 3 occasions during the year we get together with other ladies' organisations in the Parish for worship. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month commencing at 2.15pm in the Church Centre. For more information contact Janet Webster or Jane Hulse via the Parish Office or Please click HERE.
