As a Church we’ve identified a vision and a set of values that is already shaping our discipleship, and which will guide our priorities for the future.
Our Vision:
Offering God’s welcome – Being changed by His love
Our Values:
Loved by God
God's love meets us in grace. We welcome people as and where they are, so living out the radical acceptance by God of all people made in his image and redeemed by Jesus Christ. His love leads us to be an inclusive, comprehensive church of all ages, and backgrounds.
Biblical Authority
God speaks today. The Bible has prime place in our theology, worship, faith and discipleship. Our lives are shaped by relevant biblical teaching where our understanding of scripture is informed by and applied to contemporary contexts. We expect diversity in interpretation yet respect biblical authority.
Discipleship
God changes us. The Holy Spirit is at work among us and we seek to work with Him through effective pastoral care and responsible individual discipline. We are called to personal growth, deepening prayer and spirituality, and to be equipped for service and mission. We follow together the way of Jesus Christ, as givers and receivers of the grace of God.
Good News
God's love compels us to proclaim good news in deed and word. We take seriously the great commission and the great commandment both to declare and demonstrate the good news of his love to everyone in our community and beyond. We are especially concerned to reach the emerging generation of children and young people. We will care for and be alongside people unconditionally, yet always prepared to 'give a reason for the hope we have.'
Being Church
Church is about people not buildings. Inspiring worship is at the heart of our community of faith. We experience 'church' in small groups and in larger, central gatherings. From our Anglican roots, we welcome different expressions of church within our own fellowship and in other fellowships in the town. We value our partnership with the whole church, locally and globally in the one mission of the kingdom of God.
