Ronan

I am 11 yrs old and have been coming to Emmanuel Church all my life.

There have been lots of Holiday Clubs, Sunday School and After School Clubs, but now that I am older I am feeling more like this is my church and not just my parents’.

At the moment I am involved in the Junior Music Team where I get to play drums, which I love doing, for the family service once a month.

Sunday School on a Sunday morning, where we study the bible, is great because I do this with my mate. Oh, and if we bring our bible we get chocolate! (The trick here is to collect a bible from the back of church on the way out, then you don’t have to carry yours from home!)

I’ve helped with the sound desk once or twice, and am hoping to do this more.

Sometimes I come to church on a Sunday evening, especially when there is a “hang around” after for young people. Last time I came there was a chocolate fountain with stuff to dip in.

I also sneak into a Cell Group, which my parents run for 16yr olds at our house. (And there are chocolate biscuits after!)

The guys are great, and this also means that I get to go away with them to Soul Survivor in the summer. I think that there will be a Cell set up for me and my mates soon.

Soul Survivor, an annual trip in the summer that a growing number of us go to, is a week long Youth event based on street culture, skateboarding, hot chocolate, hanging out etc. It is a great chance for a bit of freedom and time to see God doing stuff.

After last years trip I was eager to be baptised and David and Bishop Tim baptised me in a pool we borrowed for the event.
