Hope '08 is about transforming lives and community. A national initiative, it's being organised across many of the Christian churches. 'Hope' is about serving and communicating with the 58 million people of the United Kingdom and specifically for us with those in Loughborough. 'Hope' is about facilitating intensified, united, focused prayer and a year of activities, communicating the Gospel through words and actions, creating a lasting legacy of both physical and spiritual change in the lives of communities and individuals. To find out more visit the special LoveLougborough website HERE or the national Hope 08 website HERE.
They'll be plenty more information to get excited about in the coming months, but at a special TownWide Prayer service in May, a crafted prayer was written that it is hoped, we will all be praying for the remainder of 2007 and throughout 2008:
"Lord we want your church to be visible in Loughborough.
One thousand outstretched arms,
demonstrating how big the love of Christ is.
Make us determined to be one,
using the gifts you have given to the whole church in this town:
speaking with one voice;
loving with one heart;
washing the feet of the town;
reaching the vulnerable,
touching the lives of young people;
seeing the forgotten places;
connecting the people of Loughborough to the love of Jesus.
So keep us humble, with soft hearts and clear vision,
so that at the end of 2008, we will have been faithful,
as you are faithful to us.
Amen"

Delirous?, a british rock band whose members are all Christians and many of whose lyrics deal with some of the big questions of our time, have been playing gigs all over the world since the early 90's. They have filled stadiums, had a number one in Germany, played in India and Brazil, and sold more albums than most British artists have in America. Tickets are a bargain at just £13.75 each and available
