Emmanuel Prayer Times
There is a small group of Intercessors that meet in the Emmanuel Side Chapel once a fortinight on Tuesday evenings at 7.00pm to listen to God and pray for His ministry in Emmanuel and beyond. Everyone is very welcome to join us. To get the date of the next meeting contact here.
During this special time as we are praying for the appointment of our new Team Rector we are using a prayer that has been prepared for the interregnum. The words came from a recent prayer time and are based round Ephesians chapters 3 and 4 and our purpose and values.
The Interregnum Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You who are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,
we offer ourselves and our fellowship to you during this interregnum.
You have met us in our need
and by your grace we thank you
that we are learning to love and accept one another,
as and where we are,
trusting in you to help us to live lives that are worthy of the calling that we have received.
Please forgive us when we get things wrong.
Help us to be humble, gentle and patient with one another,
forgiving each other as you forgave us
and making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Thank you for your word.
May you speak to us clearly through it in all we do
and guide those with special responsibilities in the appointment process.
Thank you that you are already preparing our future Rector
with the gifts needed to help equip us for works of service
to build up the body of Christ here at Emmanuel.
As you build us up in faith,
may your love compel us to take the Good News of Christ into our community of Loughborough.
Protect those with special responsibilities or extra workloads.
May they know the joy of being joined and held together in love
by every supporting ligament in the body of Christ,
as we each do our part.
And so we place the appointment of our new Rector in your hands,
knowing that before we call, you answer.
To the Glory of Christ our Saviour.
Amen
