Our Children and Youth Choir has been running for over three years now and attracts more than 40 children and young people from across Loughborough. Our aim is to enjoy singing together while working to achieve the best standard of performance we can. It’s also a chance to have lots of fun and make new friends too. There are no audition requirements, you just need to be enthusiastic about singing and prepared to work hard!
There are three musicians who lead: Adele Adshead (former teacher, singer and mum), Eleanor Jeans (Emmanuel's musical director) and David Morris (professional singer and dad) as well as lots of other adult helpers, all of whom are CRB checked.
You don’t have to go to church or be a Christian to join – children of any or no faith are very welcome. All the leaders are Christians and we trust that as you get to know us you may experience something of God’s love and welcome for yourself.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at Emmanuel. The full choir rehearses from 5:30 - 6:15 followed by the youth choir for our older singers (school years 7+) which ends at 7pm.
This term we are preparing for a big event on Easter Monday (see below) and are also thinking ahead to the Coalville Music Festival in May.
