Meeting weekly during term time, Wednesdays,

10am - 11.30am (approx), Emmanuel Church Centre

Welcome

A big part of the Wednesday group is “welcome.” We are a group of mixed ages from many of the churches across Loughborough. There is a creche for people with pre-school children. We enjoy a coffee time each week and also try to have an evening social event two to three times a year. We are always pleased to welcome new people.

Worship, Witness and Word: Bible Study

There is lots of opportunity for discussion about faith issues and the bible with an emphasis on how we apply what we read to our daily lives. Through shared leadership, we hope to offer a variety of learning styles. Over the last couple of years we have completed a term looking at "personal stories, personal psalms", a series considering inspirational Christian men and women and linking into a different psalm each week, and have worked through the Book of Acts and a study on Malachi. We are currently looking at Bible studies involving female characters using studies adapted from "Women in the Bible" by Ann Spangler, this term we are focusing on women in the Gospels. Each week we try to incorporate some form of worship and use small group sessions to enable us to answer the questions raised in the bible studies.

Prayer

We like to regularly pray for each other in small groups and to share items for prayer outside of the meeting. We are planing to have a whole session for prayer each term. Everyone can participate in whatever way they feel comfortable.

Service

In the past year we have raised funds for African Steps, which helps to run St Peter's hospital on Likoma Island in Malawi. We also hope to support each other in times of individual need and in the voluntary community work many of us are involved in.
