Offering our gifts to God“Since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you — see that you also excel in this grace of giving.”

2 Corinthians 8:7

We believe that we worship God with everything we are and have. One way of worshipping Him, is to give money regularly to God (your giving also makes the work at Emmanuel possible!). We don't specify how much people should give, but do believe that all giving should be sacrifical, and that God is most honoured by our sacrifice and the attitude of our giving, rather than exactly how much we give.  We recieve no money from the government and are wholly reliant on the generous giving of our members.

How can I give regularly?

There are many different ways to give from Standing Order to payroll giving, from envelopes to put in the offetory during Sunday services to sending cheques.  To download a document which outlines all the ways to give and how to set things up, click HERE.  In addition to the amount you give, we can also claim back any tax you pay.  This means at no extra cost to you we can claim back a further 28p for every £1 given.  This applies no matter which way you give, all you need do is complete a simple form and give to our Stewardship Secretary, Norman Revell (his contact details are in ways to give leaflet downloadable from HERE).  Normally the easiest way to give is by setting up a Standing Order with your bank. Click HERE to download a form for setting up a tax efficient standing order.

You may also like to consider making a donation to Emmanuel in your will. Please ask your solicitor when you make or change your will, or ask us for more information.

Thanksgiving Sunday and More Information

Once a year (normally around February) we hold a Thanksgiving Sunday, where news of what money has been spent on over the previous year is shared, together with hopes for the coming year.  For more information on what we believe about giving, what we've spent money on recently and what we hope to spend it on over the coming year, or for a copy of a leaflet on how to give, please contact Norman Revell, through the Parish Office.

Claiming expenses: If you have undertaken work for the church and would like to claim back pre agreed expenses a form for this can be downloaded HERE and posted into the Church Office for the attention of the treasurer.
